Who is Northern Lights Car Rental?
Northern Lights Car rental is a company running insurance fraud based out of Bogatröð, Iceland... a 15 minute van ride from Keflavík, Airport! They front as a low-cost car rental service, but their primary function is to hold tourists hostage and exploit them for money. Only $1,436.44 for me. If you're lucky, it might be for more as it has been for hundreds of other customers!
How do I get there?
Simply wait around Keflavík airport for hour until someone holding a Northern Lights Car Rental sign appears. They, being the only transit option to their rental hub, will take you in their van.
I want to be scammed! How can I make that happen?
It's as easy as 1-2-3! Simply be an international traveler wishing to visit Iceland. Go to northernlightscarrental.is or a portal such as DiscoverCars and book through them. You must be 20 years old and have a valid driver's license to be scammed. Pick up your poorly maintained vehicle. The insurance fraud will begin right upon your arrival and end when you return your car exactly as it was delivered to you... you need not do anything more for their expert grifters to charge you for invisible bullshit!
What type of condition should I expect the car to be in?
All vehicles are old and are poorly maintained, as corroborated by review after review. Many travelers do not even get to return the car due to mechanical issues or must prematurely return the car due to how unsafe they are. Always remember... that's your fault! Mine was clearly in exceptional condition considering it only had the following for preexisting damage:
- A dented front door
- A chipped front windshield
- A cracked rear bumper
- A cracked headlight (fog lights not functional)

Of course not! The great thing about being in a remote location and being the only transit option is that Northern Lights Car Rental will refuse to drive you to the airport to make your international flight unless you accept their fraudulent claims. They will hold you hostage. You must accept damages under duress. Only after you are charged will you be allowed to leave.
